The King County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that an armed robbery suspect who fired a shot at a clerk in Skyway and robbed a gas station in Tukwila has been arrested.

On Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, the King County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit arrested an 18-year old male in connection with these two recent armed robberies.

On Jan. 3, 2020, police say the suspect robbed the Tukwila Union 76 gas station at 13300 block of Interurban and – just 20 minutes later – a 7-11 in the 12900 block of Martin Luther King Jr Way S. in Skyway, where he fired a shot at the clerk.

Police say the suspect fired a shot towards two clerks in the Skyway Robbery – thankfully no one was injured.

Both incidents were caught on surveillance video:

The suspect fled the scene on foot and a K9 track was not successful to track him.

The suspect was arrested at S. Holly Park Drive / S. Myrtle Place in Seattle by the King County Sheriff’s Office. A handgun was recovered from his backpack which appears to match the handgun used in both robberies.

The suspect was identified through an anonymous tip to Crimestoppers. Further investigation by Tukwila Police and KCSO Major Crimes Detectives developed probable cause to arrest the suspect.

He was booked into the King County Jail on two counts of investigation of Robbery 1st degree.
