Restored B-52 squeezes by Aviation High en route to new home Tuesday

A retired B-52 rolled (carefully) down I-5 & SR 405 en route to its new home in Tukwila Tuesday, but first the mammoth aircraft had to squeeze around a corner near Raisbeck Aviation High School.

The giant, historic jet will end up on display at a Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park located next to the school.

The retired Boeing B-52G ‘Stratofortress’ once served in Vietnam during ‘Operation Linebacker II’ in December 1972, and contributed to the release of 591 U.S. POWs.

The exhibit will open on Veteran’s Day – Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018.

Raisbeck Aviation High School is located near the Museum of Flight at 9229 E Marginal Way South:
