Man arrested after human remains found in Tukwila Thursday

Detectives with the Tukwila Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit (MCU) are investigating the discovery of human remains found Thursday, Jan. 11 by a resident in the 5800 block of S. 152nd Place (map below).

Police say that on Thursday around 4:36 p.m., officers were dispatched to that location after a resident called 9-1-1 to report having discovered human remains inside a container in front of that spot. Based on the suspicious nature ad location of the discovery, MCU detectives took over the investigation.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office took custody of the remains at the scene, and will be conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Detectives identified a suspect during the course of the investigation, and he was taken into custody by officers in Tukwila Thursday night without incident, and was booked into the King County Jail.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.

Police say they will release more details as they become available.
