Suspected drunk driver t-bones truck, kills woman in Tukwila Thursday night
A Burien woman was killed after her truck was struck by a suspected drunk driver Thursday night on the West Valley Highway in Tukwila, police said.
Tukwila deputies responded to an accident report near S. 180th Street and West Valley Highway (map below) at 11:40 p.m., where they found the crash scene.
Police say that a southbound pickup truck had t-boned the woman’s truck, which was turning left onto S. 180th Street.
The female driver of the turning truck was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the second vehicle was taken into custody, and police say it appears that alcohol was a factor in the fatal collision.
The female victim was a 64-year old resident of Burien. Her identity has not yet been released.
The driver – who was arrested – was a 27-year old male from Utah.
The Tukwila Police Traffic Unit is conducting an investigation.
