TUKWILA – Two women were seriously injured when their car drove into the opposing lanes of traffic and slammed nearly head-on into a King County Medic Unit in the 13200 block of International Boulevard, Tukwila police reported.

The collision happened just before 10 p.m. Wednesday night.

According to investigators, the women, both 18, were in a car heading north when the driver crossed over the center median and struck the southbound ambulance.

Both women were taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries. Their conditions were unavailable Thursday.

The driver and passenger in the medic unit were taken to Valley Medical Center, where they were treated and released.
